Finally, a way to get my 3yo son to drink kombucha - this pineapple kombucha green smoothie! I love consuming some fermented foods every day, it's really important for gut health. I usually drink kombucha, a fermented tea beverage.

A green smoothie is often my sons' daily dose of greens, and the only way I can get them to take their fermented cod liver oil. Now, it's a way to give them some kombucha too! Yay for green smoothies!

I got some mixed greens from my backyard garden. Don't you just love summer? I picked some green lettuce, a kale leaf, and a chard leaf. If you're new to green smoothies, try romaine lettuce which has a milder taste. Avoid iceberg lettuce which has almost no nutrients.

Summer is a great time to have some ripe pineapple too, right? When cutting up a pineapple, save the core for smoothies. Almost nothing gets wasted in the kitchen.

We have been loving pineapple kombucha lately but I couldn't get my 3yo to try it, so I thought, why not try kombucha in a green smoothie instead of plain water?

I usually add some hemp seeds to our smoothies, they are a great source of omega-3 and a complete protein. Also added some hemp oil for more omega-3 goodness. Did you know that adding some protein and healthy fat in your smoothie makes it a complete meal?

I then added a ripe banana, this adds sweetness and more nutrients to the smoothie. If you want, you can add ice cubes as well.

You can try this with plain kombucha. And I bet this would taste great with some cucumber too.

    Blend it all up!

Put everything in a blender and process until smooth. I used my trusty Vitamix.
